What We Track
For each monitored city, we capture:
- US AQI — The EPA’s Air Quality Index (0–500 scale)
- PM2.5 — Fine particulate matter (µg/m³)
- PM10 — Coarse particulate matter (µg/m³)
- Ozone (O₃) — Ground-level ozone
- Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂) — Traffic and combustion pollutant
- Sulphur Dioxide (SO₂) — Industrial emissions
- Carbon Monoxide (CO) — Incomplete combustion
AQI Scale
| AQI | Level | Color | Health Implications |

| 51–100 | Moderate | Yellow | Acceptable for most, some risk for sensitive groups |
| 101–150 | Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups | Orange | Children, elderly, and those with respiratory conditions should limit prolonged outdoor exertion |
| 151–200 | Unhealthy | Red | Everyone may begin to experience health effects |
| 201–300 | Very Unhealthy | Purple | Health alert: significant health effects for everyone |
| 301+ | Hazardous | Maroon | Emergency conditions |
