Critical for severe-weather (CAPE, helicity, lifted index) and Brad's WSPR-tornado precursor work. Daily pull of year-to-date files; orchestrator dedup handles re-ingestion. Public domain.

SILSO (Solar Influences Data Analysis Center, Royal Observatory of Belgium) — the canonical international sunspot number (SN). Daily, monthly, and 13-month smoothed values. The successor since 2015 to the original Wolf number, with a recalibrated v2.0 series back to 1700. Used for solar-cycle phase context in ionospheric/HF-propagation analyses and as a covariate in WSPR-related papers.

National Weather Service (NWS) active alerts feed — tornado warnings, severe thunderstorm warnings, flash flood warnings, winter storm advisories, and ~80 other alert types issued by US NWS field offices in real time. Polled from api.weather.gov; updates within seconds of issuance. The geometry field encodes the polygon or county/zone the alert applies to. This is the primary source for live severe-weather event capture in TerraPulse (see GLM listener arc).
