On the 19th, the PMEL (Pacific Marine Environmental Labroatory) platform at Cape Prince of Wales on the Bering Strait Coast reported wind gusts to 60 mph. Additionally on the early morning of the 17th, wind chills of -70 to 81 below occurred over zone 3: Kotzebue reached -72 F; Selawik reached -81 F.
