This front passed across northwest Pennsylvania during the late evening hours of the 16th, with any liquid precipitation turning quickly to snow by the early morning hours of the 17th. Although only a few inches of snow fell as the front passed across the area, several persistent lake effect snow bands set up across Forest and Venango counties and produced isolated snowfall totals of around 8 inches by the early morning hours of the 18th. Some snowfall totals included 8.1 inches at West Hickory in Forest County, 8.0 inches at Pleasantville in Venango County, 7.0 inches at Marienville in Forest County, and 4.0 inches at Franklin in Venango County. |
