Snowfall amounts approached 1 1/2 feet in some locations, with the greatest amounts on northeast-facing slopes and eastern foothills. Sinks Canyon, near Lander, received 17 inches of snow; Lander received 16 inches; South Pass 15 inches; along the South Fork of the Shoshone River southwest of Cody 11 to 13 inches; Casper 8 to 12 inches; extreme southwest Sweetwater County around 12 inches. In addition, blizzard conditions prevailed across Sweetwater County on the 24th, with I-80 and many county roads closed. |
