Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeDouble barrel low pressure systems spread a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain across Southeast Pennsylvania from the late morning through the evening on the 9th. Precipitation started as snow by noon on the 9th and changed from snow to sleet and freezing rain during the early evening hours. Precipitation went over to plain rain for a while near the Delaware River. Accumulations were light, mainly two inches or less. For extreme Southeast Pennsylvania, this was the first measurable snowfall of the season. Although the wintry mix of precipitation did cause slippery roads, no serious accidents or traffic tie-ups were reported. The lows went from the central Ohio Valley and Georgia the morning of the 9th to Lake Huron (the former) and Boston (the latter) the morning of the 10th. Keeping separate identities prevented these lows from dropping heavier precipitation across the area.
