This system produced a mixed bag of wintery precipitation across central New York. A period of heavy snow occurred in northern sections of Oneida county late at night on the 4th and into the early morning hours of the 5th before precipitation changed over to sleet and freezing rain. By daybreak on the 5th, 6 to 8 inches of snow and sleet had fallen over the northern half of the county. Specifically, Alder Creek reported 7.5 inches and Forestport got around 8 inches of new snow.
