Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeThe first winter storm of the year moved through Montana and slowed over North Dakota. Unseasonably warm air ahead of the low was replaced by cold arctic air. Snow began falling in the western part of the state on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 20th and continued into the morning of the 21st. 2 injuries were reported during the winter storm near Williston in an auto accident. The ages of those involved were not reported, nor were the extent of their injuries. The heaviest snow reported with the storm was 6 inches at Bowman, Williston and Berthold. 4 inches of snow fell at Minot. North winds up to 35 mph also created the first below zero wind chill values of the season. The winds also hampered travel with blowing snow and visibilities down to less than 1/4 mile. No road closures were reported however.
