| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | An area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday night (3/6/96) moved to the Mid Atlantic coast and intensified late Thursday (3/7/96) then moved northeast to a position near Cape Cod Friday morning then into the Canadian Maritimes thereafter.Steady snow fell across the area from noon Thursday (3/7/96) through 10 PM Friday (3/8/96). Accumulations were generally 6 to 12 inches across Vermont with the highest amounts along and east of the Green Mountains. A few of the heavier amounts were as follows: Rutland (Rutland county) 14 inches, Waitsfield (Washington county) 13 inches, West Danville (Caledonia county) and Brookfield (Orange county) and Middlebury (Addison county) 12 inches, Ludlow (Windsor county) 11.7 inches, Burlington (Chittenden county) 9 inches and Canaan (Essex county) 8.5 inches and St Albans (Franklin county) 8 inches.Numerous traffic accidents were reported statewide. |
