At least two notable wild fires developed across Deep South Texas on the 15th (Hidalgo County) and 16th (Jim Hogg County).

Numerous local Volunteer and county Fire Departments assisted with fire fighting efforts, as well as the Texas Forest Service and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
