| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | Very strong winds on the 21st pushed the East Troublesome Fire across the Continental Divide. All roads into Estes Park were closed. Mandatory evacuation orders were issued for the western part of Rocky Mountain National Park and for the west side of Estes Park. A storm system in late October brought heavy snow and much colder temperatures; it gave firefighters the break they needed to start containment of the fire, cancel the evacuations and start assessing the damage. |
| Event narrativeevent_narrative | The fire crossed State Highway 125 on the afternoon of October 21st, and spread eastward into the Rocky Mountain National Park on the 22nd and crossed the Continental Divide. |
