The Rockhouse Fire 22 miles southeast of San Carlos on August 21st was the largest of these fires. The Juniper Fire, 18 miles east of San Carlos--just east of July's Valley Fire, consumed another 2,867 acres and totaled another $200,000 in suppression costs during late August. |
