Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeThe Kincade Fire was sparked in the evening of October 23rd during the first of a series of offshore wind events. The second event in late October promoted the rapid spread of the Kincade Fire across portions of Sonoma County. Much of the county was evacuated during this time and wind gusts were recorded as high as 102 mph in the vicinity of the fire. The fire continued to burn into early November.

In all, the fire burned 77,758 acres, 374 structures were destroyed, 60 were damaged, and 4 first responders were injured with one injury deemed serious https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/2019/10/23/kincade-fire/. The fire prompted numerous emergency evacuations throughout Sonoma County.
