| episode_narrative | A wind-swept fire began upslope from Maalaea in Maui, in the West Maui Mountains, that eventually consumed around 4600 acres of dry brush. The flames forced the evacuation of more than 450 residents along Maalaea Bay Road as the blaze moved close to homes in the area. The fire also forced the closure of streets and highways in parts of West and central Maui. However, in the end, there were no significant injuries or structural damages. The cause of the blaze was under investigation. |
