On September 12, high winds and low relative humidity caused the fire to rapidly grow, and it eventually burned 102,190 acres. The Pole Creek Fire and nearby Bald Mountain Fire led to the evacuation of 6,000 people from 2,000 homes at the height of the incident, as well as caused numerous road closures The combined costs to fight the Pole Creek Fire and Bald Mountain Fire were $23.8 million. The Pole Creek Fire was contained on October 7. Note that this event began in September.
