episode_narrativeA suspicious fire started in five different locations in Woodland Township in Burlington County during the late afternoon of the 31st. The unseasonably dry spring weather helped the fire spread. The fire was located within the Pine Barrens in the area north of New Jersey State Highway 72, west of Ocean County Highway 539 and east of Woodmansie Road. About 394 acres burned before the fire was declared under control at 4 p.m. EDT on June 1st. One fire alone consumed 300 of the acres burned. Underground turf continued to burn in the month of June and was not completely out until the 21st of June.
