The fire occurred about 10 miles southeast of Pagosa Springs in the San Juan National Forest, and was designated as a Wildland Fire Use incident. The fire burned 1182 acres of pinyon pine, mixed conifer, and oak brush. The approximate cost of managing the fire was 529 thousand dollars.
