episode_narrativeExtremely hot and dry conditions over the Cuyamaca Mountains in eastern San Diego County were responsible for the rapid growth of a brush fire that was caused by sparks from a welder's torch. Named the Peak Fire, it burned 296 acres, and four fire fighters were injured fighting it. Several communities and Girl Scout Camps were evacuated, but no structures were lost.
