| episode_narrative | The Oregon Department of Forestry's Incident Management Team 2 (Incident Commander Chris Cline) and the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office Incident Management Team Green (Incident Commander John Ingrao) were dispatched to and assumed joint incident command at noon on Sunday, June 8, 2014, of the Two Bulls Fires. These two fires, burning towards each other when first reported (Saturday afternoon, June 7), are being managed as one incident, are located approximately 10 miles northwest of Bend, and burning in a mix of Deschutes National Forest and private lands protected by the Oregon Department of Forestry. The wind- and terrain-driven fires prompted immediate evacuations in areas west of Bend, as well as additional threats/evacuation notices. Evacuations and the threats to structures were downgraded within a few days, with the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office Incident Management Team Green demobilized at the end of shift on June 10. On Saturday, June 14, 2014, responsibility for management of the Two Bulls Fire transitioned to a local Type 3 fire team. At the time of transition, no homes or structures had been damaged or lost as a result of this fire, however, the fire burned approximately 6,908 acres of public and private forestlands. |
