episode_narrativeThis lightning sparked wildfire, better known as the Deep Creek Point Wildfire, started on September 4, 2001 in a steep and rugged canyon north of Silt. The fire consumed over 750 acres of oak brush and pine trees and was finally extinguished in mid-October after a strong fall storm dropped heavy rain and snow on the area. Please see the September 2001 report of Storm Data for more information.
