episode_narrativeHigh pressure over the southern plains brought dry, windy and relatively warm conditions to eastern Nebraska on January 29th. Afternoon temperatures climbed into the 40s as relative humidity values dropped into the 20 to 30 percent range as south winds gusted between 20 and 30 mph.
event_narrativeA brush fire burned a little over 300 acres around Lake Cunningham on the far northwest outskirts of Omaha. Lack of precipitation and snow cover much of January helped cause very dry conditions, and gusty south winds and low relative humidity values fed the flames which climbed as high as 5 to 10 feet. Although no damage was caused other than vegetation, the fire took a little over 6 hours to extinguish.
