episode_narrativeA line of thunderstorms developed ahead of a cold front that was moving across the region. These thunderstorms produced mostly wind damage across the eastern half of the CWA. The most significant damage was reported in Collin County where a mobile home was rolled onto its top. In addition to the thunderstorm winds, very strong winds behind the front continued into the following day. Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph were common with wind gusts over 50 mph in some locations. These winds caused many power outages across the region and some additional minor damage. Also, the strong winds fueled 2 grass fires which caused some property damage in Bell and McLennan Counties.
event_narrativeA grass fire fueled by gusty winds spread to a barn filled with scrap metal. The barn and much of its contents were destroyed.
