episode_narrativeIsolated thunderstorms developed and moved southeast across parts of northwest Kansas during the late afternoon and evening. Two separate lightning strikes in extreme southern Sherman County resulted in fires which eventually merged into a large fire consuming 15,000 acres. One abandoned farm house was destroyed, otherwise no structures or machinery were affected. The fire lasted approximately 8 hours before it was deemed under control.
