Many wildfires occurred during the month burning over 40,000 acres of land, several homes, and lots of personal property. From the 1st through the 5th, there were 6 grass fires that caused damage. The largest and most damaging of these fires was the 1701-acre Center City Fire that occurred in Mills County.
