| episode_narrative | The Gilman fire started around 1500 PST on August 6, along Gilman Springs Road east of Highway 60 near Moreno Valley. The fire burned rapidly though grass and brush to a total of 945 acres before it was finally contained around 1700 PST on the 7th. Highway 60 was closed from Gilman Springs Road to Jack Rabbit Trail and all trapped motorists were evacuated. No structured were damaged, but four hand crew members were treated for smoke inhalation, while battling the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown. |
