episode_narrativeHigh winds and falling humidity behind a cold front were blamed for either causing or aggravating wildfires that broke out in several North Carolina counties.
event_narrativeA fallen tree blown onto an electrical line by high winds caused a forest fire in the Green Briar/Rocky Knob area of of Watauga County. The winds, gusting as high as 62 mph at the Boone Airport (KTNB), combined with low relative humidity to fan the fires. 60 to 100 acres were burned but no homes were damaged.
