episode_narrativeDry weather continued into the second week of October. The lack of rainfall, low humidities, and unusually warm temperatures permitted favorable conditions for the development of wildfires.
event_narrativeA wildfire on the eastern side of Camp Robinson burned approximately 1500 acres. The Camp Robinson Public Safety Department, several volunteer fire departments, and the Arkansas Forestry Commission fought the fire. A National Guard helicopter was used to drop water on the blaze. A small subdivision near Kellogg Acres Rd. and Batesville Pike was threatened briefly, but the fire never left the confines of Camp Robinson.
