episode_narrativeHigh pressure over the Tennessee Valley produced dry and warm conditions across much of northern Alabama. This dropped relative humidity values below 25 percent during the afternoon hours and created hazardous conditions for the spread of several fires that occurred across Colbert county. Fires were responded to and controlled by fire departments at the following locations: Borden road, Cottontown Lane, King Bridge road, New Bethel road, and Foxtrap road. The biggest fire occurred on King Bridge Road where some property was destroyed and one firefighter was transported to the hospital for heat related injuries. Overall, nearly 7 acres were burned across Colbert County.
event_narrativeA fire started near a home on Alabama 20 north of Central Heights spread quickly across very dry vegetation along King Bridge road and blackened 2.5 acres of land. Several pieces of rusty unused farm equipment and one shed were damaged by the fire before it was extinguished by the fire department. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for heat related injuries caused by the fire.
