episode_narrativeThe County Road 44 wildfire began about 1313 CST roughly seven miles east southeast of Hartley in eastern Hartley County. The fire was located south of U.S. Highway 87 but just north of County Road Q and just east of County Road 44. The wildfire consumed three hundred and thirty-three acres...however no structural damage or injuries were reported. A total of four agencies responded to the wildfire including both the Hartley Fire Department and the Channing Fire Department in addition to the Dalhart Volunteer Fire Department. The fire was contained approximately 1600 CST and the cause of the wildfire was determined to be downed transmission lines.
