Ignition was reported on March 12th and continued until containment in early April. It interfered with state transportation and local electricity. No injuries, fatalities, or evacuations. The cause of wildfire is unknown.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeThe Florida Forest Service reported that the 344 Wildfire, in extreme Southeast Miami-Dade County, had burned a total 26,719 acres. As of April 4th, the wildfire was 100 percent contained. No injuries or fatalities were reported. There was damage to power lines and communication towers, but no significant damage from the fire.
