They started this day around 4:00 PM, but no resources were directed to this fire until July. It was still burning at the end of August, and consisted of the Bear Wallow and South Ukonom fires. In late August, this fire was transferred to NIMC and was considered to be low priority. Thus, at the end of August, no current status information was available. However, information was available later on and as of 0630 PDT on 09/11/08, this fire was 47998 acres in size and 75% contained with an estimated containment date of 09/30/08. 13.8 million had been expended in fire fighting efforts. |
