Event narrativeevent_narrativeThe Aero Fire started in the afternoon on June 17th, 2024 near Rock Creek Road and Highway 4, near Copperopolis. The cause was under investigation, and spread over 5000 acres within the first 24 hours due to strong northerly winds and low relative humidity. Northerly winds were around 10 to 20 mph sustained with gusts of 25 to 35 mph were observed, with minimum relative humidity around 20 to 25 percent. The fire reached 5285 acres but was 100 percent contained by June 27th, 2024. 1 structure was damaged, and 3 were destroyed.
