episode_narrativeAn uncontrolled campfire near the northeast edge of New Fork Lakes was responsible for the New Fork Lakes wildfire which began around 1300MDT on Tuesday, July 29. The fire quickly spread into the Bridger Wilderness Area. By the end of July, the fire had consumed over 3,000 acres of dead and down fuels and bug killed lodgepole. No structures were immediately threatened by the fire. Active burning continued into August (see August 2008 Storm Data for more information).
