Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeUnseasonably warm temperatures, strong wind gusts, and very low humidity combined with dormant, drought-stricken fuels to promote conditions that supported the rapid spread of wildfire across portions of northeastern Oklahoma during late October. Numerous wildfires occurred from the 21st through the 23rd across the region, but the largest fires affected Osage County where over 15,000 acres were burned, Pawnee County where over 6000 acres were burned, and Rogers County where over 5000 acres were burned. A fire fighter was injured in the Pawnee County fires on the 22nd.
