Some of the numerous fires that started on the 4th or 5th of the month, continued to burn until the 11th, despite several days with low fire spread potential due to cooler temperatures and higher humidity. The largest and most-persistent fires during this period affected Choctaw County, where over 800 acres were burned, and Le Flore County, where over 400 acres were burned. |
