No injuries occurred but one fire apparatus was consumed by the fire after flipping over. The Fire Department had difficulties containing the fire due to very soft sand impeding proper positions of fire apparatuses. 2 Balko, OK firefighters were injured and taken to the burn unit in Lubbock due to the overturned apparatus. The fire burned an estimated 24,542 acres.
