Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeWidespread winds from the south-southwest, sustained at 15-20 MPH with gusts 35-40 MPH brought record warmth to the area and very low relative humidity. The combination of these factors lead to a small wildfire to the southwest of Nashville, IN. Other impacts nearby included reduced traffic flow on Interstate 70 in Morgan County due to minor grass fires along the roadway.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA 20-acre forest fire burned through the late day and early evening hours along the south side of Green Valley Road. Five houses along Kelp Grove Road were evacuated as they were less than 1 mile downwind of the fire. 12 volunteer fire departments from both Brown and adjacent counties assisted in extinguishing the fire.
