Lightning struck a middle school in Decatur damaging a portion of brick tower structure and shattering a window from falling debris.

From photos on social media, it appears siding from a brick tower at the front of the building was significantly damaged. A window was also shattered by falling debris. A newspaper reported that a radio link antenna was damaged, broken windows, and roof damage from falling bricks.
