| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | Several backbuilding thunderstorms developed in a hot airmass over the Mid-Hudson Valley during the late afternoon of the 29th. Some of these storms resulted in wind damage over portions of Ulster and Dutchess Counties. Later in the evening, additional storms developed and moved into the Capital District. It was the second straight day of severe thunderstorms for the Schenectady and southern Saratoga County area. After the storms moved through, there were 8,900 customers in Schenectady County and 6,100 customers in Saratoga County without power. The thunderstorm winds downed several trees onto houses and one onto a moving vehicle on Interstate 890, trapping and injuring the driver. |
