Episode narrativeepisode_narrative	Several rounds of strong to severe storms developed during the morning and early afternoon hours ahead of an approaching cold front.. Storms first developed along a line from the east end of Lake Erie to the west end of Lake Ontario shifting south and east through the morning then pushing east of the region during the early afternoon. The thunderstorm winds downed trees and power lines throughout the region. Several thousand power outages were reported. Lightning associated with the thunderstorms struck a warehouse in Lancaster causing several thousand dollars in damage. Another lightning strike hit the chimney of the Carmelite Monastery in Buffalo. The chimney which was 94 years old collapsed due to the strike. Damage was estimated at $30,000. In Allegany county, the heavy rains from the thunderstorms caused localized flash flooding with a couple of roads washed out in Wellsville and Andover.
