This storm produced a line of damaging winds around Albert Lea, eastward to Austin, Minnesota. There was also a house fire associated with lightning strikes north of Freeborn. |
| Event narrativeevent_narrative | An attic fire was reported about three quarters of a mile north of Freeborn. It was caused by a lightning strike at about 2:30 a.m. cst. A husband and wife were home at the time of the fire, but were able to leave the house safely. The damage was estimated to be close to $3,000. |
