With cold air aloft some of these storms were able to meet severe criteria. Lightning caused a historic building in Palm Beach County to burn down. Another severe storm in Collier County produced large hail.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA historic and abandoned two-story warehouse building in Canal Point collapsed after a fire consumed most of the building. Firefighters believe the fire was caused by lightning. Lightning date indicated several strikes located near the building.
