Episode narrativeepisode_narrative	A warm and muggy air mass was situated over eastern New York on Tuesday, June 28th. Ahead of a cold front, lines of slow-moving thunderstorms developed during the early to mid afternooon hours. These thunderstorms moved eastward across the Mohawk Valley of southern Herkimer County, producing damaging winds and hail, as well as very heavy rainfall. Some power outages were reported as a result of the downed trees and power lines. \|\|Thunderstorms moved east of the area by the evening hours, and the cold front eventually crossed the area during the overnight hours.
Event narrativeevent_narrative	A 29 year old man repairing a water main break was struck by lightning during a thunderstorm. According to local print media, the man was standing about three inches from a metal stake garden pot when a bolt of lightning struck the plant stand behind him. The lightning strike ricocheted to his left shoulder blade and exited him through his leg. The man went to the emergency room and was discharged later that night with only minor injuries. He was able to return to work in a few days.
