Ahead of a cold front, lines of slow-moving thunderstorms developed during the early to mid afternooon hours. These thunderstorms moved eastward across the Mohawk Valley of southern Herkimer County, producing damaging winds and hail, as well as very heavy rainfall. Some power outages were reported as a result of the downed trees and power lines. ||Thunderstorms moved east of the area by the evening hours, and the cold front eventually crossed the area during the overnight hours. |
