A warm front moved into Arkansas and sparked a number of severe thunderstorms during the afternoon. One of these storms spawned an EF1 tornado west of Star City. During the evening, a cold front approaching from the west pushed another area of severe thunderstorms into Arkansas. These storms pushed eastward across the state and continued into the early morning hours of the 18th. In both instances, there was a considerable amount of wind damage, primarily due to very strong winds aloft. |
