Episode narrativeepisode_narrative	July rounded out with another shot of monsoon moisture and thunderstorms as high pressure shifted back westward over the Four Corners on the 29th and 30th. The main drivers for storms were terrain and outflow boundary collisions. Scattered thunderstorms occurred mainly over the mountains and deserts with wide-ranging rainfall totals from a few tenths of an inch to locally over 2 inches. Flash flooding occurred in Idyllwild, Timoteo Canyon, Calimesa/Moreno Valley, along with water flowing in the Fish and Vallecito Creeks in Anza Borrego State Park. A few storms went severe, including quarter-sized hail and wind damage in Calimesa and wind damage from a microburst in Palm Desert.
Event narrativeevent_narrative	A spotter in Lucerne Valley reported a lightning strike onto power lines causing a power outage across a section of the Lucerne Valley area to the southeast of town. A transformer was burned out and tripped a number of circuit breakers on the nearby power grid causing the outage for over an hour in some locations.
