Lightning strikes associated with the line of thunderstorms downed wires and struck a residential building. A warm front had lifted northeast through New Jersey during the morning of the 11th. This permitted sufficient daytime heating to occur ahead of an approaching cold front, yielding a line of strong thunderstorms with numerous lightning strikes.
