Severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging wind gusts impacted nearly all of Southeast Lower Michigan, including all neighboring marine areas. A couple of storms across the Thumb showed rotation and prompted the issuance of a couple of tornado warnings. No tornadoes were reported. Lightning struck the National Weather Service office during this event, causing total damages in excess of $15K.
