| episode_narrative | A large cluster of thunderstorms moved through Southeast Pennsylvania during the early morning of the 14th and was a prolific lightning producer. Around 5,000 cloud-to-ground strikes of lightning were reported. The worst lightning strike and damage occurred in Bensalem Township when an unoccupied trailer was severely damaged by a lightning strike and its ensuing fire. One firefighter was treated for minor burns. PECO Energy reported about 64,000 homes and businesses lost power in their service area between Midnight and 4 a.m. EDT. Most of the outages (50,000) were in Bucks County. |
