| episode_narrative | Several bolts of lightning struck a neighborhood in Hampton causing considerable damage. At least four direct strikes could be confirmed. In one home, the lightning blew a hole in the foundation, sending pieces of concrete flying 50 feet into the backyard. The bolt also blew pieces of siding from three sides of the house, reportedly blew a flower pot into a thousand pieces, singed skirting boards, and destroyed three television sets. Within the neighborhood. lightning caused dozens of phones, televisions, garage openers, and water pumps to fail. In another home, the lightning blew a caller id box into the air, narrowly missing a resident of the home. At another home, a bolt of lightning struck an underground dog fence 10 feet from the home, then travelled underground into the home via electrical wiring. The lightning blew a hole in the ground, then melted the home's circuit box. |
